‘Foundations in Herbal Medicine’ is a comprehensive examination of the plant world and our relationship with it. Moving beyond simply memorizing plant uses, these classes will equip you with the tools to determine the medicinal qualities of unknown plants, understand the human as a complete ecosystem, build awareness to confidently assess imbalance in the body, and formulate individualized medicines.
Each class will include instruction in botany and foraging, the principles of plant energetics and classical tissue states, foundational anatomy and physiology, ethno-medica, and seasonal green pharmacy. Meet at the Yellow Room, Sandpoint Events Centre, Pine Street. Bring a packed lunch. Adults only.

Learn about conscientious foraging technique, proper harvesting methods, edible and medicinal properties of our native plants and how to process them to get the most out of our local flora abundance.

Description:
This mini-series will equip you with the foundational skills to confidently identify native medicinal plants and their energetic actions, assess illness, imbalance, and the root cause of chronic and acute conditions, and understand the main tissue states in our bodies, all necessary to create effective personalized herbal formulae.
Each class will consist of in-depth theoretical instruction and discussion, foraging and botanical identification and practical plant preparation.
